Objective

The aim of Advanced Control Team (ACT) is to promote the excellence in control theory and to help in dissemination of the developed theory to the real-life applications. In short, we look at the control of complex real-life systems.

History

Advanced Control Team was founded in 1996 as an informal group at the Department of Control and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb, Croatia. With time we have established close collaboration with a number of industrial partners and research groups worldwide. Today the team comprises more than a dozen full-time researchers plus a varying number of affiliated researchers, and master and bachelor students.

Research interests

Initial focus was on the process control, automation and control of electrical drives with the emphasis on the torsion, backlash and friction compensation. With the increasing number of researchers we have gradually broadened our research activities to encompass new control strategies and new areas of applications. Among these new research directions mobile robotics takes a prominent place. Currently our research activities can be softly divided into two big groups:
