Research position open to work on the FP7 project UrbanWater

A research position is open on the ACT's FP7 project UrbanWater. The presumable start of work is November 1, 2013. The application with a short CV and motivation letter should be sent to mario.vasak@fer.hr no later than October 23, 2014.

Plaća: na razini znanstvenog novaka na FERu, razdoblje uposlenja: 1.11.2014-31.8.2015., full-time rad

Opis posla: Rad u okviru FP7 projekta UrbanWater -- Intelligent Urban Water Management System u kojem FER razvija tri modula nove otvorene UrbanWater platforme za gospodarenje vodnodistributivnim sustavom u gradovima koji pokriva lanac od zahvata vode do krajnjih potrošača. Ta tri modula su:
(1) modul za predviđanje potrošnje vode u vodnodistributivnom sustavu temeljen na povijesnim podatcima o potrošnji i ostalim koreliranim podatcima koji su na raspolaganju (vrijeme, meteorološki podatci, kalendarski podatci i ostalo)
(2) modul za dinamičko određivanje cijene vode u distribuciji za krajnje potrošače na satnoj razini jedan dan unaprijed kojim se osigurava čim manji operativni trošak vodnodistributivnog sustava
(3) modul za karakterizaciju brzo uzorkovanog profila potrošnje vode kod krajnjih potrošača na način da se iz potpisa potrošnje određuju uređaji u kućanstvu koji su sudjelovali u potrošnji

Moduli (1) i (2) su razvijeni i implementirani u Matlab i Python okruženju te se u nastavku projekta obavlja njihova puna integracija na UrbanWater platformu te potom verifikacija u stvarnim uvjetima rada. Modul (1) testirat će se u vodnodistributivnim sustavima gradova Tavira (Portugal), Almeria (Španjolska) i Palkovice (Češka). Modul (2) testirat će se u vodnodistributivnim sustavima gradova Almeria i Palkovice. Za oba modula bit će potrebno preuzeti već odrađenu implementaciju i ovladati njome.

Modul (3) potrebno je razviti do 30.11.2014., u suradnji s ostatkom FER-ovog UrbanWater tima (Vašak, Baotić, Petrović, Perić, Matuško); predvidive metode za to su: identifikacija značajki iz vremenskog odziva, clustering, linearna klasifikacija za koje nije nužno da ih kandidat poznaje u trenutku uposlenja. Modul (3) potrebno je implemntirati u sklopu UrbanWater platforme u Python okruženju do 31.12.2015. Modul će se testirati na grupi od ukupno 30 potrošača jednoliko raspodijeljenih u vodnodistributivnim sustavima gradova Tavira i Almeria.

Napomena: Projekt završava 31.8.2015., te postoji mogućnost i daljnjeg istraživačkog rada u okviru grupe Advanced Control Team na ovoj temi ili srodnim temama vezanim uz napredne gradove i napredne mreže (smart city/smart grid), kao i mogućnost komercijalizacije UrbanWater rješenja (svi ostali razvojni partneri u konzorciju su tvrtke iz privatnog sektora). Međutim, niti jedna od ove dvije opcije zasad nije osigurana.

Students and researchers had an opportunity to learn directly the experience of wind turbine functioning and observe the multidisciplinarity of the designing problems and control aspects through an interaction with their colleagues of the mechanical and civil engineering expertise, which will undoubtedly improve their researches, seminars, projects and theses.
 
We thank everyone who participated in the visit organisation, especially to Končar employees for their hospitality and professional guidance.

UrbanWater Project – Call for survey [23.02.2013]

Technical program contains seven invited lectures given by renowned international scientists about new research in the field of cooperative renewable energy systems. Research activities of ACROSS members in this field will also be presented. Abstracts of all the lectures can be found in ACROSS-WCRES book of abstracts.

The workshop is open for all interested researchers and PhD students, with obligatory prior notification on e-mail across@fer.hr , no later than Monday 19 November 2012 at 15:00.
