Distributed Sensor Fusion Architectures for Tracking in Intelligent Spaces

ABSTRACT:
Intelligent Spaces are spaces with a network of sensors and actuators, aiming at providing services to the users of space. Sensor fusion in such spaces is an important task that has to be addressed in order to be implement in real environments. Intelligent Spaces usually possess two kinds of sensors, sensors that sense the environment and sensors on actuators that sense their own motion. In order to implement sensor fusion these different sensor types have to be taken into account. In this paper we discuss the distributed fusion architectures, concentrating on the case of the tracking task inside Intelligent Spaces.
